Abstract Fiber
What’s your story?
I started knitting because I saw a woman wearing hand knit socks and that blew my mind. That was in 1990. I’ve worked many odd jobs, gone to college and gotten a masters degree, had a baby and moved across several states. I now live in Oregon. It wasn’t until 2018 I got into the Indie dyeing business. I am so grateful to be where I am and love every minute of it.
What are your values?
I make a wide array of brilliantly hand dyed yarn and fibers. As a Black owned business, I am also committed to bringing Black history into the yarn and fiber world. I find spiritual sanctuary in the meditative nature of knitting, spinning and dying. I believe that joy, equity and connection are essential for a meaningful life and love getting to share this journey with a diverse network of crafters!
What can we find at Abstract Fiber?
I make both fiber for spinning and yarn for knitting using intense and brilliant colors.
Are you open to collaborations or custom work?
I open to collaborations and I love to teach folx to knit and spin too!
