Urban Girl Yarns
What’s your story?
I was going through a rough patch in my life 6 years ago. I started dyeing at the insistence of the owner of my LYS (Local Yarn Store) who saw that I had a great eye for color. I thought it would be something that would bring me joy. Once I dyed my initial batch of 4 skeins my friends wanted more yarn and insisted that I dye more for them to purchase. So, I acquiesced and did more dyeing in my kitchen. Today I own my own studio and I dye 100 to 500 skeins per week. I have three part time Minions who help me. I have attended numerous fiber festivals, yarn shows, and Trunk-shows. My fibers are in over 10 LYS and growing. I have been the featured Dyer in various books, magazines, and articles.
